The 1st National Rabbit Congress is happening today at Bulacan Agricultural State College at Brgy. Pinaod San Ildefonso, Bulacan.

The event was organized by the Association of Rabbit Meat Producers Inc. (ARaMP) in collaboration with the mentioned agricultural institution. Attendees are members of various organizations, rabbit meat producers, as well as those who are planning to start the agribusiness.

For Day 1, topics such as Communication Campaign on Rabbit Raising as an Alternative Livelihood will be tackled, as well as Sensory Evaluation of Rabbit Meat, Market Study of Rabbit Meat, and many more. For Day 2, February 28 8 in the morning, seminars on meat processing will be discussed. Afterwards, a rabbit dish cooking contest will take place among senior high schools from San Ildefonso.

The rabbit industry is a fast-emerging alternative for livestock cultivation today. According to studies, rabbit meat is cleaner than other kinds of livestock and provides more protein due to its plant-based diet. Moreover, the industry is sustainable and profitable due to its increasing number of demands in the market. ARaMP Inc. believes that with proper support and consumer awareness, rabbit production will emerge as an alternative solution to hunger, undernourishment, and poverty.
